Aryeh Kluger Research Center

About

Our treasured son Aryeh Natanel Kluger ז”ל was an entrepreneur, a book-loving student, award-winning software developer, piano student, and Lego inventor. Aryeh was a funny, cheerful child, a writer of comics, curious about the world, kind, loving, generous, determined, brave, strong, brimming with brilliant ideas. He was always optimistic and could find the “sunny side,” even in the most difficult situations.

Known for beaming smile, flaming red hair, and kindness to others, Aryeh always asked about classmates when they weren’t in school, and said the healing blessing “El na refa na la” (Please God, heal her) when an ambulance went by. On buses, he rose for the elderly, offering his seat to strangers.

Aryeh loved to read and was an advanced reader from an early age. He read hundreds of books and was never without a book for even short trips. He enjoyed visiting bookshops with his mother and would return with armloads of new titles.

In March 2022, Aryeh was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, APXA, (Anaplastic Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma.) He endured multiple surgeries, rounds of radiation and medications over the course of a year of treatment, but always said he would “bounce back.” He continued to go on hikes and holidays throughout the year, climbed Masada in December, 2022, and never missed an opportunity to go to a party or celebration.

In the last months of his life, Aryeh decided that, as an entrepreneur, he would raise money for an expensive Iron Man Helmet that he wanted to buy. He worked at various small jobs and collected hundreds of bottles from friends and neighbors for their redemption value. After months of work he succeeded in obtaining the helmet in time for Purim in 2023.

Aryeh loved his friends and made new friends wherever he went, including among the nurses and doctors at Shaare Zedek. He thanked the doctors and nurses for their help, even when the procedures were painful. He also thanked the cleaners for their hard work.

Aryeh Natanel Kluger was born on December 26, 2010 in New York City. He died on March 23, 2023, the first day of the Hebrew month of Nissan. We miss him and his joie de vivre every single day.
